Another Social Media Account Bites The Dust

Well, folks, if you went looking for us on Instagram this week and found a big, empty void where the Kraken Kratom page used to be — no, you didn’t hallucinate it. We got the boot. Again.

Pour one out for the reels. Light a candle for the carousels. Our Instagram page has officially joined the choir invisible.

So… what happened?

The short version: Instagram decided our account was a little too kratom-y for its liking and pressed the big red button. No warning, no conversation, no “hey, let’s work it out” — just poof, gone.

We’re not mad. (Okay, maybe a little mad. But mostly we’re used to it.)

Wait — kratom’s legal. Why does this keep happening?

Great question, and this is the part people mix up all the time.

Kratom is not federally illegal in the United States. In fact, a growing number of states have passed Kratom Consumer Protection Acts that actively regulate it as a product — with age limits, labeling rules, and quality standards. It’s sold openly, taxed, and bought by millions of adults every year.

The issue isn’t legality. It’s FDA posture. The FDA has taken a chilly stance toward kratom over the years, and social media platforms tend to take their cues from federal signaling rather than from actual law or actual science. So even though kratom is a legal botanical product, platforms like Instagram lump it in with things that are genuinely restricted and call it a day.

Why do some kratom brands stay up while we don’t?

Funny you should ask.

A lot of smaller kratom brands manage to fly under the radar because their names don’t include the word “kratom” anywhere. Their handles, bios, and captions can stay vague. The algorithm doesn’t catch them as easily, and honestly — nobody’s actively looking for them.

We, on the other hand, are Kraken Kratom. One of the biggest, most recognizable names in the space, with the word right there in our logo, our handle, and roughly every other sentence we’ve ever posted. We’re basically the lighthouse in a foggy harbor of keyword moderation. Of course we get spotted first.

It’s the curse of being big and honest about what we sell. We’ll take it.

Kraken’s Lagoon is our private Facebook group — a cozy little corner of the internet built for our community. It’s where we share product news, real talk, deals, strain chatter, stories, memes, and the occasional unhinged kratom opinion. No shadow bans, no mysterious disappearances, no waking up to find our page has been vaporized overnight.
