Thailand is one area of the world that many kratom lovers associate with their favorite strain of kratom, but is that all that there is to Thailand?

Of course not!

Beyond the facts of kratom production in Thailand, there is a lot more that this country has to offer the world.

Today, we’ll be introducing some basics about Thailand as well as information about the most fascinating tourism that Thailand has to offer visitors today. Let’s get started!

Basics About Thailand

Thailand is known to have something for everyone. The area has beaches, cultural sites, exciting nightlife, delicious food, and all sorts of entertainment that falls in between these things. Before we get into those details, however, let’s start with the basics.

Formerly known as Siam, there is, of course, a lot more to learn about Thailand besides these basic facts! In fact, each of the 76 different regions of Thailand have their own unique characteristics. But having the basic information about Thailand to start can help you understand just how populous Thailand is and how much the culture in Thailand may differ from your own.

Thailand: What’s The Environment Like?

Thailand covers a wide area (it is the 50th largest country in the world). Because of that, there are a lot of different climate regions such as the Thailand Highlands in the north all the way down to the low islands in the south. Despite the differences in climate around the island, there are some general categorizations we can make.

Most tourists visit Thailand between December and March. This is because the weather is usually the best during this time!

There are three main weather seasons in Thailand:

If you’ll be visiting any areas that are heavy in agriculture, you’ll want to avoid them in March and April. Most farmers will do crop burning during this time, and the air quality can become a bit hard to deal with. Still, other areas of Thailand can be wonderful at that time!

Be in Bangkok!

One of the most popular things to do when visiting Thailand is to go to Bangkok. This thriving city has a ton to offer, so most tourists will stop here at least once during their trip to Thailand.

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, and it is a big metropolitan city. There’s a lot of energy and chaos in the city, but that’s part of the appeal! You can go shopping, visit temples, eat out, and connect with Thai people in their own city.

The Grand Palace and Wat Pho Temple are two must-visit locations in Bangkok. After that, you should also be sure that you are visiting the Chatuchak market or any of the other beautiful malls where you can try street food, check out local vendors, and just enjoy Thailand without spending too much money!

Setting up a day tour for one of your first days in Bangkok is a great way to get oriented in the city and figure out where you want to explore more. These tours, offered by reputable tour guides, will help you to discover more of the joy of Thailand than you might find on your own.

Outdoor Adventures

If you love to be outside, heading to Northern Thailand will be a great choice for you. This region has amazing mountain treks, whitewater rafting, mountainous villages, and more! You can try all of these activities while also exploring the main agricultural area of Thailand.

The vibe is very different from Bangkok, but there are still a few bigger cities like Chiang Mai to visit! It’s known as a vibrant cultural hub, but you’ll still have easy access to nature while there.

Island Hopping

Finally, let’s talk tropical adventures!

When many people think of Thailand, they think of beaches, hot weather, and a summer-like experience. That makes sense because there are a lot of islands and beaches in Thailand!

Going island hopping in Thailand is one of the most exciting ways that you can have this tropical experience while traveling there. Whether you decide to just do some day-to-day excursions or go on an entire island adventure for a few days at a time, you can easily access all of these islands thanks to extensive boat transportation in the regions.

If you want to visit uncrowded beaches, the best way to do this is to head to some smaller islands like Koh Phi Phi, Koh Chang, and Koh Lipe where you are less likely to need to compete with tourists to be able to really enjoy the beaches.

Budgeting Your Trip To Thailand

If you’re interested in traveling to Thailand after reading about all it has to offer, you might be wondering what you need to budget.

Luckily for you, Thailand is known as one of the most budget-friendly travel destinations in the world! Mid-range accommodations can be found for $30 or less a night, and you can definitely find cheaper dorm-style housing if you don’t mind sharing space.

A typical meal from a street vendor is likely to cost less than $3, and even eating at an average restaurant should come in under $10 per meal.

All in all, you can expect to spend as little as $35 a day if you’re really thrifty! The most expensive part of the trip is sure to be any additional activities that you add on, so keep that in mind when doing your planning.
