HHS Bans 7OH Kratom: What It Means for You

In a major move, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has officially announced an emergency scheduling action that places 7-hydroxymitragynine (7OH) products into Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act. This means that the production, sale, and possession of 7OH products are now prohibited nationwide.

Unlike natural Kratom, 7OH is an isolated, highly concentrated alkaloid derived synthetically or manipulated from Kratom to be many times more potent than traditional leaf or powdered Kratom. Its intense effects and potential for misuse raised red flags among regulators.
