Help Stop Kratom Bans in 3 States Right Now

By Kraken / May 1, 2026 / 0 Comments

State legislative sessions are wrapping up across the country, but the fight for safe, legal kratom access is far from over. Right now, three states — South Carolina, California, and Michigan — are facing critical decisions that could strip access from thousands of responsible adult consumers.

We’re asking the Kraken Kratom community to step up. Here’s exactly what’s happening, why it matters, and how you can make your voice heard in the next few days.

Why This Moment Matters

Kratom prohibition doesn’t make communities safer. It pushes responsible adults toward unregulated markets, eliminates quality controls, and ignores the millions of Americans who use kratom responsibly every day.

Another Social Media Account Bites The Dust

By Kraken / April 21, 2026 / 0 Comments

Well, folks, if you went looking for us on Instagram this week and found a big, empty void where the Kraken Kratom page used to be — no, you didn’t hallucinate it. We got the boot. Again.

Pour one out for the reels. Light a candle for the carousels. Our Instagram page has officially joined the choir invisible.

So… what happened?

The short version: Instagram decided our account was a little too kratom-y for its liking and pressed the big red button. No warning, no conversation, no “hey, let’s work it out” — just poof, gone.

California’s Kratom Landscape: What You Need to Know in 2026

By Kraken / February 20, 2026 / 0 Comments

California is one of the largest Kratom markets in the country — nearly 40 million residents call it home. But the state’s regulatory landscape has become a patchwork of state guidelines, local bans, and new enforcement actions that every Kratom consumer needs to understand.

Here’s a clear breakdown of where things stand right now.

State-Level Status: Legal, But It’s Complicated

At the state level, Kratom remains legal for adults 18 and over. However, California hasn’t passed comprehensive Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) legislation, leaving it in what many describe as a regulatory gray area.

HHS Bans 7OH Kratom: What It Means for You

By Kraken / July 29, 2025 / 0 Comments

In a major move, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has officially announced an emergency scheduling action that places 7-hydroxymitragynine (7OH) products into Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act. This means that the production, sale, and possession of 7OH products are now prohibited nationwide.

Unlike natural Kratom, 7OH is an isolated, highly concentrated alkaloid derived synthetically or manipulated from Kratom to be many times more potent than traditional leaf or powdered Kratom.

Why We Support This Move

At Kraken Kratom, we believe this decision is the right step for consumer safety and the long-term legitimacy of the Kratom industry. We have never sold 7OH products because they are inconsistent with our commitment to natural, responsibly sourced Kratom.

Louisiana Kratom Ban Starts 8/1 – Act Fast

By Kraken / July 28, 2025 / 0 Comments

The Louisiana Kratom ban is officially set to begin on August 1, 2025. This means residents have just a few days left to make any last purchases before Kratom becomes illegal in the state.

If you live in Louisiana and use Kratom, now is the time to plan ahead. This change is frustrating not only for responsible consumers in Louisiana but for the entire Kratom community nationwide. It underscores the importance of staying engaged in advocacy efforts to protect access to safe, regulated Kratom.

At Kraken Kratom, we are continuing to work alongside advocacy organizations and consumer groups to push back against misinformation and fight for fair Kratom legislation. We believe in regulations that protect consumers—not outright bans that remove access entirely.

Louisiana Moves to Ban Kratom: Take Action Now

By Kraken / May 28, 2025 / 0 Comments

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the Kratom community, Louisiana lawmakers have passed a bill to ban Kratom—just one signature from Governor Jeff Landry away from becoming law. The bill, spearheaded by Senator Jay Morris and carried in the House by Rep. Debbie Villio, paints a grim picture for Kratom access in the Bayou State.

The Louisiana House voted overwhelmingly in favor of the ban, 86–6, following a 26–11 vote in the Senate earlier this month. Unless Governor Landry vetoes or amends the bill, Kratom will soon be illegal throughout the state.
